The National Tax Agency has released information on the locations of tax return venues for final income tax returns for 2024.
The following is a summary of this information. (The Japanese text released by the National Tax Agency is considered to be correct, and the information below is for reference only)
Notice of Tax Return Filing Venues for the 2024 Tax Return Filing Season
Tax return consultations and filing of tax returns will be held from Monday, February 17, 2025 to Monday, March 17, 2025.
You will need an admission ticket to enter the tax return filing locations (this is not necessary if you are only submitting a tax return form, etc.).
The tax return venues are expected to be very busy. In particular, there is expected to be a huge crowd just before the tax return deadline, so please come as early as possible if you plan to visit.
The tax office is closed on weekends, public holidays, etc., so consultations and tax return submissions cannot be accepted on these days.
However, at some venues, consultations and tax return submissions will be accepted on Sunday, March 2nd.
About the admission tickets
Admission tickets are required to enter the tax return venues.
To ease congestion inside the venues, you will need an “admission ticket” with a specified time slot to enter the venue for final income tax return.
Admission tickets will be distributed at each venue on the day, but it is also possible to obtain them in advance online via LINE. For details on how to obtain admission tickets in advance online, please check “How to obtain admission tickets via LINE”.
Depending on the distribution status of admission tickets, you may be asked to visit on a later date.
You can check the distribution status on the day from the National Tax Agency website (scheduled to be published on February 17, 2025).
